"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory." - Luke 24:39
Life is busy. The list of things to do is never-ending. But if we were to pause from our busy lives, we'd notice that there's an entire world outside of our own that's busy too. In fact, there's a continuous worship service happening all around us 24-hours a day, 365-days a year. Each day, every element of nature is actively declaring the glory of God. While we're hustling from one obligation to the next, all of creation is busy hosting an incredible worship service. True worship---beautiful, sincere, unadulterated worship---is happening all around us, but often we're so preoccupied with life that we miss it.
In the beginning, God placed man in a garden surrounded by creation. We were not put in a city full of skyscrapers. We were placed in the heart of creation with nothing separating us from the earth as it declared God's glory. Nowadays it's very easy to live disengaged from creation. We spend most of our time inside our homes, behind our desks, or riding in our cars. But if we were to take the time to behold the natural beauty of the earth---the powerful ocean, delicate birds in flight, astounding sunsets---our spirits would discover the presence of the God of Creation. It's when we connect with creation that we're made aware of the power, majesty, and glory of God and our spirits are compelled to join the chorus of the whole earth as it sings, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty!"
All of creation declares the glory of God. When we connect with creation, our spirit worships.
Do you spend more time indoors or outdoors? When you are outside, do you naturally notice the beauty of creation?
Name a time when the beauty of creation stopped you dead in your tracks and astounded you. Did you sense the greatness of God in that moment?
Pay special attention to the world around you today. Note moments when you feel your spirit connect with God as you observe creation.
